- This high-purity Microcrystalline Wax from Japan, when mixed together with an equal part of Paraffin Wax, is used to preserve wooden hive boxes.
- A hot-wax dipped wood hive can be expected to last 20 years and more by preventing the ingress of moisture which facilitates wood rot.
Woodware is submerged for 10 minutes in molten wax at temperature between 130degC and 165degC. - A 200L wax dipping tank would require about 150kg of wax.
- 1 kg of the wax is likely to be sufficient to treat 4-5 boxes.
IMPORTANT: Control temperatures carefully as overheating may result in a spontaneous wax fire.
